Call 650-814-9210 to register.The Mindful Social Fitness Workshop is sponsored by the Shyness
Institute to provide a space for people to come together to learn
together to strengthen present moment awareness and emotion regulation
skills through exercises taken from Mindfulness protocols by Dr. Marsha
Linehan, Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, and Dr. Robert Stahl and from Acceptance
and Commitment Therapy by Dr. Steven Hayes including trainings by Dr.
Robyn Walser, and from coursework with Shaila Catherine at Insight
Meditation South Bay.These exercises are adapted and tailored for problematic shyness and
social anxiety.Dr. Lynne Henderson is the Director of the Shyness Institute, a faculty
member in the Continuing Studies Program at Stanford, and conducts
research at Stanford and at the Shyness Institute. Dr. Henderson also
directs the Shyness Clinic at the Kurt and Barbara Gronowski Clinic at
Pacific Graduate School of Psychology. Satoko Kimpara is an advanced
practicum student at the Shyness Clinic at Pacific Graduate School of
Psychology. Dr. Henderson and Satoko Kimpara will provide both
theoretical knowledge and practical training in specific practices that
